About Me
Hi, I’m Sanne (pronounced like “Donna” with an S) — founder of The Complete Canine, based in New Zealand and now working with dog owners around the world.
My journey into dog training began with my own two dogs, Lenyx and Zelda — the inspiration behind everything I do, and proudly featured in my logo. What started as a passion project in Melbourne has since grown across Auckland and expanded internationally through YouTube and online courses.
Why I Do This
Lenyx and Zelda taught me more than any textbook ever could. Thanks to them, I discovered how powerful dog training can be when it’s practical, personal, and rooted in real-life challenges. They often accompany me during sessions — whether that’s helping reactive dogs build calm or teaching puppies appropriate play.
Beyond client work, I enjoy training my own dogs in scent detection, scooterjoring, hiking, agility, and trick training. You’ll often find us testing new games, sports, or enrichment ideas together.
From Classroom to Dogs
Before stepping into the dog training world, I spent eight years as a full-time primary school teacher. That background shaped the way I work today: with clear communication, structured lesson plans, and a deep understanding of how both dogs and people learn best. The switch to dog training wasn’t random — it was the perfect fit.
Teaching Around the World
As a trained educator, I naturally gravitated toward creating online courses. It allows me to reach more dog owners with high-quality, step-by-step training — no matter where they live. My courses combine real-life demos with clear explanations and structured learning pathways, just like a good classroom should. I am also an instructor on Consider The Dog, a premium dog training platform with other highly regarded trainers.
